About Keira Knightley:

Keira Knightley was born March 26, 1985, is an Academy Award-nominated English film actress. Knightley is best known for her roles in films such as "Bend It Like Beckham," and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.

When she was just three, Knightley famously asked her parents -- Sharman Macdonald, an award-winning playwright, and Will Knightley, a theater and television actor -- for an agent. After striving at school despite her dyslexia, Knightley's parents awarded their daughter an agent when she was seven. Knightley's otherworldly beauty was no doubt a factor when she began landing roles in amateur stage productions around London, but she would soon prove to the world that she was not just another pretty face.

Many would agree that a movie about pirates starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom would be a hit no matter what actress joined them on their swashbuckling adventure. But who could argue that Keira Knightley's presence as the tough-as-nails Elizabeth Swann had nothing to do with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl's worldwide gross of over $650,000,000. Knightley did more than hold her own opposite cinematic titan Depp and fellow rising star Bloom on her way to becoming a bona fied action star. She went on to appear in the uber-lucrative sequels Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End before announcing that she would not return for the planned fourth installment. We guess that after helping the franchise gross $2.79 billion worldwide, Knightley felt it was time to move on.

About Charlize Theron:

Charlize Theron (born August 7, 1975) is an Academy Award winning South African actress and former fashion model. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Monster. Charlize Theron experienced tragedy early on in her life when her mother shot her father in self-defense after he threatened to kill her and Charlize in a drunken state.

Since the farm they lived on had no means of entertainment Charlize Theron used her passion for dancing (specifically ballet) and her imagination to stay entertained. After dancing in Johannesburg, she began modeling in Milan, Italy by the time she was 16.John Crosby encouraged Charlize Theron to try her hand at acting. It didn't take much convincing, since she was currently unemployed. With no money to pay for a coach to perfect her English accent, Charlize Theron set out to lose her South African accent by singing along to popular music and watching American television shows. She also appeared in 1996's That Thing You Do!, directed by Tom Hanks, and still voices her appreciation to Tom Hanks for giving her that break. Charlize Theron then appeared in 1997's Trial and Error costarring Michael Richards, and had a supporting role in The Devil's Advocate starring Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino.
